He holds a dream in his brain that appears to be genuine to him - In Shallow Creek, when Vanessa sees the ponies is the point at which we know that Chris is living in a universe of hallucinations. - Chris’ dreamland is his lone asylum from potential madness in light of the fact that without it, he would have no desire forever - Vanessa stresses that she is unequipped for saying the proper thing when they go outdoors and Chris discusses God and the Stars. â€Å"pretending to be asleep† (pg.22) - Chris doesn’t react when his granddad discusses him, he sets an obstruction between his own reality and reality. - His reality comprises of his ponies, saddle, bungle, own farm. He has control of everything in his reality so it just concerns him - The line gradually, gradually ponies of the night implies Chris vanishes into madness and that he can’t see day and night. Means the night must move delayed for Chris and â€Å"Whether he had found finally a route for himself to make the essential dream perpetual† (pg.24) - Chris sees God as ludicrous and fierce. He doesn’t put stock in God. Vanessa doesn’t react, so perhaps she has confidence in God and doesn’t need to disclose to Chris her perspectives. The conditions for their perspectives may be the way that Chris’ family lives in neediness while Vanessa is in an ideal situation a tad. Vanessa is frightened of talking/saying an inappropriate things - It uncovers that he had a psychological breakdown and that he is lost in his dreamland. He no longer lives in his own reality (Chris’ letter) - Vanessa discovers that the letter from Chris is the last thing that reveals to her he is lost and the letter affirmed why he did ridiculous things. She comprehends why he had a dreamland. - overabundance of creative mind hurtful - he has control of his own dreamland ponies Duchess and Firefly. Be that as it may, actually they are furrow ponies. - obstruction among individual and this present reality when an individual dreams excessively - he imparts and plays with more youthful youngsters since he has control and they make no decisions about him. - sells vacuum cleaners, magazines and sewing machines to college yet he doesn’t have the imprints to get in. - without his dreamland he would have no desire forever. - Chris ends his life to escape the â€Å"absolute deplorability of battle†
